Mathematics
education is not only study about mathematics or language. When learn
mathematics educationn with Mr. Marsigit, we learn about mathematics in english
too. Besides, Mr. Marsigit explain about how to learn mathematics to kids and
what the different of mathematics for kids and for college, and the level of
iceberg of mathematics. Iceberg of mathematics are concrete mathematics, model
mathematics, model form, and the highest is formla mathematics.
There are many messages that Mr.
Marsigit said during lecturing with him, that are:
1.
In
order to be able to communicate with education. Mathematics is all, worldwide, and
has aspect that cruel and complete. Components that mathematics has are
teacher, students, tools education, and curriculum.
2.
Appreciate
to students from toil
and working in made reflections. However, reflections is the one way to get
poin, but the most important from reflection is we wonted writing in english. And
then, to expression our idea like drew and writing english.
3.
Use
source learning in environment, include in college.
4.
We
got to know learning is continue, anytime, and anywhere. Such as internet
access. Internet access has two functions, there are to educating students
understand an english and make students phrasing their opinion not in pressure, because they will study
optimal in atmosphere
silence and high motivation.
All of college students
have to know that everything has dimension. The examples, water, with high temperature, water
be sauce and in low temperature water be ice.
Then, science and think. There are high science and high think, and low science and low think. Include
mathematics. High level of mathematics is formal mathematics or nature
mathematics. In formal mathematics, mathematics as science and it using at
college. And then, low level
mathematics is mathematics for kids and mathematics as science for them is
science for activity
not in definition.
There are many sciences
can’t be definite. Like love, nobody can definite what is love, except holy book that said about “illahi’s
love”. The old man like Mr. Marsigit still can’t definite what is love too her
wife too.
Example, what is long? What
is near? What is far? Can you definite its? It explain that mathematicians
can’t explain about long, short, near, and far. If someone definite everything,
so he has narrow think. So, mathematics for kids not to definite. In school
mathematics, students olny looking for pattern, activity to solve the problem
and communication.
All of definition are get
from intuition. We understand about long and big, but we don’t understand the
definition. We don’t know since when we know about long and big. It is
intuition.
And know, if we know the
problem mathematics for kids, is from the adults, parents, and teachers that
don’t understand. Kids has no matters. The people that has not powerful is has no matters too. So,
the people that has a powerful
that made matters to kids. Don’t ever blame
students that not interesting with science and low capability. Because that’s all from
their teacher that teach with wrong methods.
Drew an english is not only
about grammar. We
have to listen too. And the problem of lecturers and teachers is how to
facilitate. Although Mr. Marsigit often
said that, but the fact is not easy to facilitate the students. It terbukti
from the teachers very like using traditional method that only gave discourse to students. The new
method like Mr. Marsigit use is using website.
English is not too
systematic. The students need to
learn mathematics and english. Students have to aware that study is their requirement and not obligate.
Teachers must have a
principle about
theory of study that they use. Like in our class, we are a community. Community
that built our
world. And we have a lecturer english, he is english lecture.
So, we have to more read
than listen discourse
from teacher. More over,
to begin to understand the nature. Nature is seems as subjective and objective.
Objective of nature is from interaction like reading. If not, we will oscillate and less socially. And if we writing, we not
to mix all of theory that we read. Because we will get confuse about it. Now,
in teaching, we can’t using stimulus respons to students. Because the respons
of students in unperedictable. Like one thing, if we have pretty neighbour and
kindness, who knows she
is a thief.
There is one way to learn.
Get many informations and still based on
believe
in religion.
Besides, we have to leading the value. There are 4 level of characters, there are:
a.
First : only care about ourself
b.
Second : begin to think to others
c.
Third
: Contribute to networking
d.
Fourth
: Distribute our capability, such as leader in a lembaga.
Again, the big problem is
how to facilitate.
It is so difficult to practiced, just speak. And now, we have to increasing science to many people through increase our english language.
English language has two shape, formal and informal. In normal, english
language like a
result of our exam, like A, B or C. Whereas english language informal like we
follow english course and get more than 550 in target TOEFL.
In time, is not easy to be a
professor or a rector and looking for a work is difficult too. If we effort, 80% about english, we
will get it. When someone can strong memorizing and more reading showed that he has high intelligence. But, in other way, when
we feel fast boring is not only we has low intelligence, but it proved we are creative.
Mr. Marsigit think, the
best teach’s methode that he can use is flit methods,
or mix one method and the others.
To communicate mathematics in english, it about
universal problem, there are
accountability and
countability. accountability is we believed everyone
and everytime, and believe to everyone and everything. We believe lectures,
university, and certificate from the university to get work and we believed with
parents.
